Salesforce Marketing Cloud Summer16 Update

Jul 7, 2016

We are working on integrating new features from Salesforce Marketing Cloud into the NPR DS station accounts.  Below is more information on what is available now, and what's coming later this year:

Admin Mobile App for iPhones -- Available now!
Share results of your email campaigns away from your desk

If you’re using a iPhone (Android version is coming soon), you can now download a free Salesforce Marketing Cloud mobile app to manage, view and share results of your email campaigns without being tethered to your desk.

While you’ll still need your computer to manage your email campaigns in full detail, the app allows you to view stats on recent sends, share the stats from a send via email or text, and review, pause or cancel sends scheduled in the future

Email Studio: New Content Editor - Coming This Summer
Improved interface for creating and sending emails

Later this year, a new content editor will appear in your Email Studio area of Salesforce Marketing Cloud. In beta for over a year, NPR has begun testing the Content Builder with some of our own internal groups and we’re excited by many of the new improvements.

Automation Studio - Coming this Summer
Set it and forget it email management

Later this summer, we plan to enable Automation Studio for member stations who want to try marketing automation in their email campaigns. In Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Automation Studio can help you automate email tasks (sends, reporting) in a visual interface. As an example, many stations send multiple emails for a member renewal campaign. With Marketing Automation, you can set up a multi-step campaign to automatically send one email and then wait a few days to automatically send the next email, etc.

Updated Account Reports
View subscriber and send information

Under Reports, you’ll find two new custom subscriber reports that includes information about subscriber status for all of your data extensions.

Go to Email >> Tracking >> Reports >> My Reports >> Custom Reports to find these two new reports:

NPRStationSubscriberListReport - Allows you to receive a CSV by email of all of your account’s email addresses by their current subscriber status in SMC (e.g. Active, Unsubscribed, or On Hold).

More on "On Hold" emails - In order to prevent being blacklisted by major ISPs (e.g. Yahoo Mail), all email service providers like SMC will place an email address on hold if that email is returned by their provider when sent. To learn more, read about SMC bounce management.

NPRStationSubscriberReport – Allows you to receive a CSV by email of the total count (tally) of your account’s email addresses by their current Active, Unsubscribed and On Hold subscribers.

It’s also a good idea to review how well your list is performing in terms of user engagement in each send.

To see a summary of your click through, delivery and open rates by send, look for a report located under My Reports >> Tracking Reports >> Account Send Summary.

Visit us @ PMDMC in August

We’re looking forward to discussing these new features with our member stations using Salesforce Marketing Cloud later this summer. If you’re planning on attending PMDMC in Boston this August, let us know -- we’d love to say hello and discuss with you about these new features and/or any questions you have about using Salesforce Marketing Cloud to achieve your campaign goals this year.
