Inside the NPR One app, your station's brand is presented in two distinct ways: logos and a hello audio branding pieces connected to the NPR hello at the beginning of a user session. Each of the branding placements can be updated and managed by stations, or stations can rely on the default placements created for stations by NPR. Stations can use StationConnect to manage and update branding elements inside NPR One.

NPR One: Public radio made personal.

NPR One is a new digital listening app that will blend NPR and Member Station news reporting into a rich, localized, on-demand experience.

It is primarily a local/national newsmagazine experience, but enabled with digital capabilities that customize to the user and enables features such as skipping.

Content Flow Overview

Note:  Due to the fact that the user can alter the flow, and content is of different lengths estimating exact timing in the NPR flow for any given session is not possible – however we can ensure the platform conforms to general patterns that yields certain results on average.   

Your locally-produced segments are a critical piece of the NPR One experience and provide the greatest opportunity for a meaningful connection to the listener.  From news and topical pieces, to longer, contextual features, the mix of national and local segments hopes to provide something for everyone, with the added benefit of listener control. This is the place in NPR One to highlight your best features, audio postcards, and short interviews.

How does local segmented audio appear in the app?

Technical Specifications:

Just as your local newscast is critical in communicating timely and relevant information to your broadcast audience, it is of equal value to your listeners in NPR One.  The local newscast will immediately follow the national NPR newscast and is the first experience, after the Hello, of truly connecting with your local brand and content.
